Growing up with an Electrical Engineer as a father and Computer Programmer/Developer for cheapest cialis prices a mother it really is no surprise that I turned out to be infatuated with technology. As a child I learned young how to manipulate the computer to do what I wanted starting with dos and windows 95. I took classes in High School that allowed me extra time on the computer and excelled at any class where I was required to interface with technology.
But it wasn’t until college where I discovered the world of deskside, server, network, and helpdesk support. Initially just a job to get me through college, working IT for the North Dakota University System quickly turned into something I greatly enjoyed. While I started in the front office doing routine technical tasks I quickly advanced through the roles to become a Senior Helpdesk Associate for my last 4 years of college. In this role I was able to rotate between a deskside service location helping students, professors, and college presidents of all ages and ethnicity, and a remote helpdesk where I was a key asset in assisting people from all the varying North Dakota Universities in all kinds of technology related questions.
Much to my surprise, I found that my previous role as a manager with Blockbuster had left me with a lot of management skills I found to be helpful in dealing with projects I held a role in and in dealing with junior employees regarding daily expectations or troublesome activities. More than anything, this role fueled my passion for technology and increased my desire to continue to learn more about this field. I greatly enjoyed the interaction between our helpdesk and the desktop and network teams; using every opportunity to learn more and even expanded my abilities to use some of their tools to monitor Generic Drugs for problems on our campus.
Since graduation in May of 2009 I have continued to expand my experience in the field of IT, through the opportunities that contracting agencies have provided to me. I have worked with several of the larger corporations in the Twin Cities on projects dealing with hardware replacement, printer upgrades, desktop support, application testing, and even held a role in testing preparations for a world wide organization to make the switch to Windows 7. As my experience continues to expand and my desire to learn more continues to expand, I look forward to my future possibilities in the field of Information Technology
